I agree with one reviewer that it takes a lot of work to get this one going. I was glad I read his review because, I was already ready with my aluminum foil after reading it. The window adapter (piece with the lattice) comes with a cover that is VERY hard to get off...use a butter knife, or large scissors, like I did. NEXT: the exhaust tube (accordian shaped) is kinda FLIMSY; I tried to adjust it, and it pulled out of the adapter...I had to REALLY work at it, to get the thing back in and use a lot of DUCT TAPE to keep it together. And of course, I had to wrap the tubing in the aluminum foil to keep it from getting so HOT! NOW, that all said: once I went through the trouble, it works good! I am using it in my LIVING ROOM, which of COURSE is bigger than most LARGE bedrooms, and it keeps it COMFORTABLE, not cool, but I didn't really expect it to keep it very cool, seeing as I am using it in a room that is probably THREE times the size one is supposed to use it for. What I have done is to duct tape a fan ONTO THE TOP of the unit, and that WORKS REALLY REALLY WELL! I actually get COOL air to blow on me that way! Biggest piece of advice for this item? Have PLENTY of DUCT TAPE, and aluminum foil on hand when you set it up!!!
