This lantern was very poorly designed and very cheaply made. I cannot believe I paid this much for the unit.

Doesn't stay lite for more than 2 hours after being in the sun all day long. Very unhappy with product.

I bought this because I liked the pictures and overall style of the lantern. It looks great in our garden and works about as well as any solar LED light. Don't expect a super bright light, but more for ambience. We've had it for about 2 weeks and it's working fine; no cheap parts; the wood is real; looks like it was well made. I recommend it.

Mine works great. There is an on/off switch next to the LED under the lid. It's hard to tell if the switch is in the on or off position, so try both ways. You'll have to charge it in full sun first. My only complaint is that there's not an easy way to access the battery when the time comes to change it. Looks like you have to unscrew the top from the base. Battery should last the whole season (or longer) though, so I'm not worried about it. It's very cute on my table. Love it.

Although I have it I haven't tried it yet, I still like it I'm sure it will look great with the arbor when it comes.
