The shelf could not be in a stud on both ends due to the size. My son thought the shelves themselves was junk and went out and bought real wood. Both ends are hooked on a screw in a stud. He screwed the wood to the backets. And it looks great. Cost another 50 dollars. But now it will hold up.

Wouldn't buy
The top piece that SHOULD actually touch the wall doesn't!! I had to cut two pieces of wood to mount it on the wall. Poorly made.

Mixed feelings
I purchased these shelves for my bedroom which look great in the pictures provided on the website. Truth is, they are not what I was hoping for. The shelves have a different bottom from the top of the shelf. If you can image positioning them high and looking at them from an upward angle, not pretty.
